With practically hundreds of thousands of businesses running on some kind of a cloud network and database, securing the cloud has never been more important today. The countless number of security breaches is rising and is very costly. To prevent breaches and system hijackings, Certdox goes the extra mile to make sure security measures are in place. For example, we are hosted with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and have a dedicated firewall in front of the site. Our redundant servers are active in case an outage occurs. The site is hosted in both the East and West Coast; if there is an outage on one coast, then traffic is routed to the other server. We also employ an SSL Certificate to encrypt data from your site to Certdox.
SSL Certificate
- SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer.
- It’s a global security technology that secures and encrypts data.
- When installed onto a web server, it activates the padlock and the https protocol which allows secure connections from a web server to a browser.
- SSL affirms your identity and improves customer trust.
AWS Firewall
- AWS began offering IT infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now commonly known as cloud computing.
- This web application firewall helps protects your business against common web exploits that may affect availability, compromise security, or consume excessive resources.
- AWS is a secure, durable technology platform with industry-recognized certifications and audits: PCI DSS Level 1, ISO 27001, FISMA Moderate, FedRAMP, HIPAA, and SOC 1 (formerly referred to as SAS 70 and/or SSAE 16) and SOC 2 audit reports.
Redundant Servers
- Redundant servers are a system design in which a component is duplicated, so if it fails there is always a backup.
- Improves overall system performance.
- A redundant server stays offline and is not used as a live server until it is needed. It is powered up and has network connectivity so it can spring into action when required.
- Server redundancy helps your business by protecting critical data and makes sure it exists in more than just one place. This means that the business can recover data if something happens to a live server.
AWS Backups
- AWS Backups are a fully managed backup service that makes it easy to centralize and automate the back up of data across AWS services in the cloud as well as on premises using the AWS Storage Gateway.
- Backups are essential as a recovery solution.
- Certdox makes sure to copy data into an archive file of a computer that is already in secondary storage, so that it may be used to restore the original after a data loss event.
- AWS backups are used if a system crashes or hard drive fails.
